I am a technologist and technical consultant with over two decades of experience spanning military communications, computer vision, Uncrewed Arial Systems, and digital media technologies. My foundation in technical systems began in the U.S. Air Force, where I served as a satellite communications, telemetry, and wideband specialist, maintaining critical infrastructure for military operations across three continents. This role developed my expertise in RF systems, secure communications, and complex technical troubleshooting, earning an Air Force Achievement Medal for resolving a critical solar interference issue affecting radar communications during Operation Southern Watch.
Following my military service, I expanded into automation and computer vision technologies at Quantifly, where I specialized in drone operations, data analytics, and automated image processing systems. This experience bridges my current work as a technical consultant, colorist, and restoration technician in the film and television industries, where I focus on advanced image processing, color science, and high-performance workflow design.
My current work involves developing innovative solutions for the entertainment industry, particularly in documentary and archival restoration. I leverage state-of-the-art technologies, including AI models, custom Python scripting, and video processing frameworks (VapourSynth), to restore and enhance both analog and digital media. A significant portion of my work involves designing and implementing high-performance computing systems and networks for post-production facilities, requiring extensive knowledge of system architecture, security protocols, and performance optimization.
I develop specialized software tools and OFX plugins to address unique challenges in post-production operations, combining my background in systems engineering with current technological innovations. This work requires deep understanding of both hardware and software integration, cybersecurity considerations, and complex system architectures. Beyond my consulting work, I share my expertise through teaching classes and leading workshops in color management, workflow design, and digital cinematography at universities and arts institutions nationwide and online.
My diverse technical background, from military communications to computer vision and current work in high-performance computing and software development, reflects my commitment to solving complex technical challenges and staying at the forefront of technological advancement.
